Current: Mr Holomisa is the Deputy Minister of Labour of the Republic of South Africa with effect from 26 May 2014. He has been a Member of Parliament since 1994.

Membership:
  Mr Holomisa served as the traditional leader of the Hegebe Clan of Thembuland; Chairperson of the Southern African Development Community Council of Traditional Leaders; and also as president of the Congress of Traditional Leaders of South Africa (Contralesa). Mr Holomisa was the chairperson of the Joint Committee on Constitutional Review in Parliament and has been chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture and Land Affairs; chairperson of the Joint Constitutional Review Committee; a member of the Justice Committee, and a member of the Ad Hoc Committee on Parliamentary Oversight. His policy interests lie in justice, cultural matters and the development of rural communities. To this end, he has been involved in the construction of several schools in Mqanduli in the Eastern Cape. As president of Contralesa, he was involved in the recognition of traditional leaders by the State.
