29 April 2011

Chair, I hereby give notice that at the next sitting of the Council I shall move:

That the Council-

Notes that, in a show of confidence in the role played by the ANC in mobilising communities to vote for the ANC and for development and advancement in their communities, the President of the ANC, Comrade Jacob Zuma, indicated that the ANC stood a better chance of winning the City of Cape Town than before;

Further notes that the President acknowledged that the Western Cape had initiated a new form of a discriminatory service delivery system, which has resulted in the neglect of townships where the majority of poor communities live; and

Takes this opportunity to welcome the political remarks made by the President and calls on all the people of the Western Cape to rally behind the ANC and its deployed candidates to take back the City of Cape.
