Condolence motion on the killing of the KwaZulu-Natal ANC elections coordinator on voter registration day

The African National Congress moves without notice: That the House

1) notes with sadness the shot and killing of the ANC elections coordinator in the village of Imfume in KwaZulu-Natal early on Saturday morning, 10 March 2018;
2) further notes that Mkhize's door was kicked open at 02:30, and three gunmen opened fire on him, in bed in the presence of his wife;
3) reckons that his killing occurs on the first day of the voter registration ahead of next year's national elections;
4) understands that Nqobizwe Mkhize served the party as a voting district coordinator responsible for the coordination of organisational programmes related to election mobilisation;
5) believes that Mkhize was a true revolutionary who served his community with dedication, and whose leadership skills and wisdom would be solely missed;
6) trusts that the law enforcement will do everything in their power to apprehend and bring to book Mkhize's murderers; and
7) conveys heartfelt condolences to Mkhize family and the ANC at large.
