SA companies happy with steady progress at Ghana International Trade Fair

SR Van Schalwyk

Recently South African business people showcasing their products and services at the Ghana International Trade Fair expressed satisfaction with the interest shown and the opportunity to gain access to the market in Ghana. The Department of Trade and Industry funded many of these businesspeople, who are optimistic that they would be returning to South Africa with a significant number of deals, trade leads and orders that will result in exports to Ghana and other countries in the near future. The Accounts Manager of the Durban-based furniture manufacturers, Home Concept, Mr Pankie Silwanyana says his company's cupboards will soon be making their way to Ghana. "It is really a great show and a very positive one.

The CEO of House of La RicMal, a wine making-company, Mr Malcolm Green, expressed his appreciation to the Departments of Trade and Industry, International Relations and Cooperation and business for making it possible for the medium-sized businesses to showcase their products outside the country. He described the international shows as important for the growth and development of the South African economy. The ANC believes that this type of market access support from government remains critical for black businesses to sustain their growth and develop their brands.

I thank you
